I’ve heard references to the orange flavored sandwiches a few times before. I’m thinking it would have been a good idea to make marmelade sandwiches if there was an orange in your lunch bag, apple jelly with apples, etc. When I grew up we used waxed paper which also did nothing to keep flavors from melding together. Never had/tried the tub of welfare peanut butter, but I imagine they all come from the same plant!! You forgot tuna sandwiches which permeate ANYTHING.
